Ohlone Community Band – Dances, Songs, and Stories

Wednesday, March 15, 2017 • 7:30pm
The Ohlone Community Band presents an eclectic program, including Holsinger’s Havendance, Knox’s Sea Songs, and Wittrock’s Lord Tullamore, a collection of Irish tunes. Also Reineke’s Fate of the Gods, based on Nordic myth, Grainger’s The Immovable Do, and more. It’s a variety of music to lighten the winter blues.
Special weekday prices – tickets $10/$5 at the door or Parking $4.

Ohlone Wind Orchestra – American Nostalgia

Sunday, March 26, 2017 • 2pm
This concert will take you back to simpler times with Robert Russell Bennett’s Suite of Old American Dances, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice by Paul Dukas, and John Williams’ marvelous Harry Potter Symphonic Suite. The trip down memory lane continues with Noah Luna’s The Wireless, Pastime: A Salute to Baseball by Jack Stamp, and thegorgeous music of Brian Balmages and Joseph Curiale.

Mission Peak Brass Band – Fanfares, Films, and Fun

Friday, March 31, 2017 • 8pm
Original brass band music includes Sparke’s Fanfare, Romance and Finale, Lovatt-Cooper’s spectacular Fire in the Blood and British marches O.R.B. and Arnhem. Film themes feature Morricone’s Once Upon A Time in the West, with soloist Doug Harris on soprano cornet. The band will also perform Grainger’s Irish Tune from County Derry and Sparke’s splashy arrangement of ‘60s anthem MacArthur Park.
